The iOS device is extremely popular and major versions of iOS are released annually with exciting new features and apps. All Apple devices prompt users to download the newer versions.
On 19th September 2019, the latest version of iOS 13 was released introducing a range of features like dark mode, revamped Reminder app, swift keyboard, enhanced photo, etc. But has the number 13 proved to be a jinx? Because iOS 13 is riddled with problems and bugs that need to be sorted out.
Common Problems and Bugs in iOS 13
- BATTERY DRAIN
On upgrading to iOS, it is noted that the battery gets drained which is not surprising because the new OS is trying to integrate with your device by going through different system-level operations. The possible solution is to plug in your device overnight with the wi-fi on. Everything will be back to normal after it finishes syncing data from different sources or finishes restoring a heavy volume from the cloud.
- CONNECTION ISSUES WITH APPLE STORE
Many connection issues have been reported in the form of alerts stating that you cannot connect to the iTunes stores, App stores or the Apple Book. Download fails or the system hangs in the middle of a download. Possible ways to resolve this problem is first to check your wi-fi connection. If you are using cellular service confirm that cellular data is turned on via settings>cellular>cellular data. Make sure that the date and time are set correctly. Go to settings>eneral>Date and Time and toggle on>set automatically
- FAILURE OF REMINDER SYNC
Many users have reported issues with syncing notes, missing lists, and deleted reminders, wrong dates and times, etc. apple has suggested that reminders won’t sync unless all your devises are running on the latest software. So if you have upgraded your reminders on your phone with iOS13 you won’t be able to access your reminders till iPadOS and macOS Catalina are available. So delay upgrading the Reminder. If you are already a user, connect your device to the internet before you open the Reminder App for the first time.
- ISSUES WITH MISBEHAVING APPLE- MAIL
This problem pertains to the iPhone Mail app not updating, failing to sync on iPhone, iPad, crashing, not opening, failing to send messages, failing to show notifications, inability to open new accounts, inability to identify who sent the mail, etc. Some ways to fix a range of problems related to the dysfunction of mail are enumerated below.
- a) In case mail notification fails to ensure that you have enabled the mail notification.
- b) If you can’t create a new account, then disable restriction settings that restrict you from adding a new account.
- c) Enable mail app for the cellular setting.
- d) Remove the mail account and add it again.
- e) Try restarting the device
Conclusion
The annual update of the iOS version is anticipated with expectations. We have to wait patiently as the exciting iOS13.1.2 rectifies all major bugs. Till then delay updating until iOS13 becomes more stable
